Donald J Trump, President of the United States of America, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States
Pardon my humor. In fact, it is not meant to be humorous.
January 20, 2017.
I spent the day avoiding news and images of the inauguration. I truly can not wrap my head around the fact that President Trump is now our leader. His Inaugural Speech was not reassuring or confidence inspiring. His choice of words such as carnage to refer to the state of the country is insult/slur/rebuke to all Americans, that we as a Nation have failed and are failing and now, that now Trump is going to save us from ourselves. Apparently, he will make all the decisions for the Congress, he and the American people who support him and his vision. Somehow he has managed to say that will be all the American people, but there is no evidence from his remarks who among the American people is worthy of partnership in his agenda as he has belittled everyone who disagrees with him or challenges his constant outrageous exaggerations, divisive remarks, insults, disparagement of people of color and non-white ethnicity.
To express the dark image of the condition and readiness of the USA to applause and cheers and to promise America First, implying no nation can trust us to honor any treaty or pledge to protect and defend allies and democracies around the world, harkens back the isolationism of the pre-war years leading up to WW II. We as a nation can not win or survive alone. Over 80 % of the food we eat comes to us from outside the United States, largely by sea. The raw materials needed to keep building modern electronics come exclusively from other countries. The markets we sell goods and services to are largely overseas in almost every nation in the world. We need friends and allies, not enemies and distrust and uncertainty among our fellow nations.
We do not lead the world in a lot of things, educational achievement (math, science, reading) among our school children, infant mortality, renewable energy solutions, average gasoline efficiency in automobiles and trucks, just to name a few. We are tops in selling weapons worldwide.
The USA is 39th in the world in PhDs in science. Key figures in our Congress and state government leadership are science deniers.
So, the rhetoric and tone of our new president in dark and menacing. Full of fearful notions about the State of the Union. President Trump certainly believes his own vision, but he and his millions of wealthy supporters are going to party hearty this weekend before they set everything on the proper path to the American Dream
I will be watching and holding my breath for the Trump America. If he is successful I am sure he would accept President for Life. The plans are probably working for Ivanka Trump to be the first female President.
